They say men can’t multi-task but Sawyer the Robot certainly can. EQM was part of a national roadshow of Sawyer, a 20kg robot that is trained, not programmed, to undertake a multitude of tasks.
We had a fantastic turnout for the demonstrations of what Sawyer can do. The robot can do tasks such as machine tending, packaging and palletising, assembly, pick and place, loading and unloading and test inspection.
Yes, Sawyer has eyes! The robot’s inbuilt vision system can carry out quality inspection of goods or identify and sort products. If it can’t achieve the task you try and make it do the robots eyebrows raise!
Those that observed Sawyer in action could see a wide range of uses, not only in food processing and packing but in a wide range of industries.
