Unisorting is a company under the leadership of parent company; UNITEC. EQM’s positive partnership with UNITEC has resulted in the opportunity to be the New Zealand Representative for Unisorting. Unisorting is a new company formed from the acquisition and merging by UNITEC S.p.A. of three companies; Longobardi, Sado, and Sammo. The three companies were well known for having vast know-how in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, particularly with apples, pears, onions and potatoes. This combined expertise delivers innovative and user-friendly technologies with the aim to reduce processing, packing and labour costs.
One of Unisorting’s first research and development challenges initiated by UNITEC Group’s vision for the apple and pear packing industry was to create an all new Apple Sorting technology with the very gentle handling, singulation, rotation, weighing, and transferring of fruit demanded by the fruit with very sensitive and fragile pulp. The Uncial>8.0 Apples>Sort and Unical>9.0 Pear>Sort were launched at Fruit Logistica 2018 featuring many industry firsts developed from the combination of almost 200 years of experience.
