Sawdust stays put!

18 Feb Sawdust stays put!

Sawdust stays put - conveyor at sawmill siteSawdust can be a tricky product to move, especially when it’s being transported on a conveyor from outside to inside.

EQM has made the movement of sawdust much easier with a C-Channel conveyor with a troughed belt that stops the sawdust from spilling over the sides.

Waverley Sawmill were looking for a lightweight but strong conveyor system that could be made within a short timeframe and then be installed as a kit set onsite.

One C-Channel conveyor was 16 metres in length and connected to a second conveyor of 6m, which lifted the sawdust into a feed hopper for a boiler.

“They didn’t want a full trough system, but instead something more cost effective that would do a similar job. The c-channel was the ideal solution.

“It’s well priced, can be made quickly and the second conveyor system is self-supporting.

Anthony of EQM said the entire job was completed within four weeks.

Another major benefit for the sawmill is that the conveyor system automatically regulates the feeding of sawdust into the hopper, which therefore prevents overloading in the boiler.

If you’re looking for a new conveyor system, the C Channel could be your best choice. Talk to us first!
