02 Sep A saucy situation has a silver lining
A machinery supplier to this packing company usually sources its conveyor equipment from overseas but as their customer needed it in a tight timeframe , they came to EQM.
Tim from EQM takes up the story.
“The engineer wanted a reliable belt conveyor system that would integrate with the weighing and packing process and that’s where we came in.
We started with a 3D CAD model so we could reassure the customer that our design would integrate well with their weighing and packing equipment. It wasn’t a case of supplying them with the components only.”
“The difference was that we had everything ready and assembled in 4 weeks and delivered to Auckland quickly, rather than potentially waiting three months for equipment to arrive from Europe.
EQM supplied a stainless steel conveyor fitted with a special PVC belt with wavey sides and powered by a STM shaft-mounted geardrive. Stainless featured prominently in the design and each conveyor was fitted with 100mm high sides to ensure no produce would fall off the conveyor.
With concept design to final delivery being only 5 weeks EQM once again had a happy customer packing sooner.
